In couples therapy, the relationship is the focus. I act as a neutral third party to help you and your partner navigate roadblocks. We start by assessing the current state of your relationship. I often meet with the couple together first, and then may hold brief individual check-ins to understand each person’s perspective. We focus on communication cycles. Instead of “who is right,” we look at “what is happening between you.” We work on de-escalating conflict and rebuilding emotional intimacy. The goal is to provide you with a “relational toolkit” so you can handle future disagreements with respect and rediscover the friendship that brought you together.
